Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – Corton Grand Cru 2015
The Corton Grand Cru 2015 from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is a rare and exceptional wine, sourced from the estate’s three climats on the Corton hillside: Clos du Roi, Bressandes and Les Renardes. The particularly successful 2015 vintage in Burgundy offers a powerful, deep and elegant expression of Pinot Noir.
The nose reveals beautiful complexity, with aromas of ripe cherries, small red and black fruits, complemented by floral notes, delicate spices and mineral nuances. With aeration, the bouquet gains even greater depth and finesse.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, dense and concentrated, with generous texture supported by beautiful freshness. The tannins are present, ripe and structured, while the fruit retains remarkable precision. An elegant touch of oak complements the wine without overshadowing the character of the terroir. The long, fresh finish reveals a beautiful mineral dimension and remarkable persistence.
A truly outstanding Corton Grand Cru, powerful yet perfectly balanced, which brilliantly reflects the style of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Still young in its development, it has exceptional ageing potential and will gain even greater complexity over the years.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, often referred to as DRC, is one of the most prestigious and sought-after wine estates in Burgundy. Based in Vosne-Romanée, the estate boasts an exceptional wine heritage made up exclusively of Grands Crus, including the legendary Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands-Échezeaux, Échezeaux and Montrachet.
In 2008, the estate took the vineyards of Domaine Prince Florent de Mérode in Aloxe-Corton under lease. Covering 2.2746 hectares, the vineyards are divided between the Clos du Roi, Bressandes and Les Renardes climats. Since then, the grapes have been vinified together under the Corton Grand Cru appellation.
The 2015 vintage benefited from particularly favourable conditions: even and complete ripening, perfectly healthy grapes and ripe tannins. The estate describes this harvest as an exceptional vintage, marked by richness and opulent ripeness without tipping into overripeness.
The style of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is based on a constant pursuit of purity, precision and terroir expression. Its wines combine depth, finesse, freshness and excellent ageing potential, with a highly distinctive identity among the great wines of Bourgogne.
