Château Doisy-Daëne – Bordeaux Blanc Sec 2020
The Grand Vin Sec 2020 from Château Doisy-Daëne is a distinctive dry white wine produced in Barsac by the Dubourdieu family. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, it offers an elegant and refined expression of the clay-limestone terroir of Barsac. The 2020 vintage stands out for its balance of richness, freshness and aromatic precision.
The nose reveals an elegant and expressive bouquet marked by white peach, citrus fruits, kumquat and fresh apple, complemented by delicate notes of lime blossom and apricot. With aeration, more exotic and subtly spicy nuances emerge, adding further complexity.
On the palate, the wine is round, fruity and generous, with beautiful texture supported by precise acidity. Citrus and white-fleshed fruit express themselves with great freshness, while a pleasant saline sensation brings tension and length. The finish is elegant, fresh and persistent. The vintage is particularly praised for its balance, vibrancy and beautiful length.
A particularly appealing Bordeaux Blanc Sec, combining richness and freshness with great finesse. Already very enjoyable today, it also offers good potential for further development in bottle.
Château Doisy-Daëne
Located in Barsac, at the heart of the great terroirs of the Graves, Château Doisy-Daëne is an emblematic estate of the Dubourdieu family. Classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé of Barsac in 1855, the estate is particularly renowned for its great sweet wines, but also produces an original and distinctive dry white Bordeaux: the Grand Vin Sec.
The vineyard dedicated to dry white wines is located exclusively in the commune of Barsac, on a clay-limestone plateau particularly well suited to the expression of Sauvignon Blanc. The estate works its vineyards with particular attention to precision, freshness and the expression of the terroir.
The Grand Vin Sec is vinified and aged in oak barrels, bringing texture and depth while preserving the freshness and aromatic purity of the Sauvignon Blanc. The result is an elegant, generous and vibrant Bordeaux white that reveals another facet of the Barsac terroir.
