The House – Léopold Gourmel, Cognac, France

Founded in 1972 by Pierre Voisin, the Léopold Gourmel house pays tribute to the founder’s grandfather, a winegrower and craftsman deeply committed to nature and quality workmanship. From the outset, the house has pursued a modern vision of Cognac, placing aromatic purity, finesse and the natural expression of the terroir at the heart of its philosophy.

Based in the Cognac region, the house works primarily with Ugni Blanc grapes from the Fins Bois cru, an area renowned for producing expressive and generous eaux-de-vie. Particular care is given to traditional distillation and the art of ageing in oak barrels, preserving the aromatic richness and balance of its Cognacs.

Its philosophy is built around an original approach: telling the story of Cognac through the different stages of its ageing process. From vibrant fruit notes to refined floral aromas and, ultimately, the depth of spices, each creation reveals a different facet of this remarkable world.
