With 93 hectares, Domaine Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest in the region. It is distributed throughout Burgundy: Chablis (38 hectares), Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, (32 hectares), Côte Chalonnaise (3 hectares), and includes a majority of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, planted two Burgundy grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The Estate has been built up over time, through judicious acquisitions and family agreements. Some plots are among the most famous crus of Burgundy, such as Clos des Mouches, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot or Corton-Charlemagne, etc.
For other appellations, Joseph Drouhin completes his supply in grappes with long-standing partner winegrowers, who share his requirements.
As of the 2008 vintage, in order to express its attachment to this historic terroir, the name “Vaudon” is now associated with Joseph Drouhin for all of his Chablis wines.
Le Moulin de Vaudon, owned by Joseph Drouhin, is a former 18th century watermill, located a few steps from the Grands Crus of Chablis, spanning the Serein, the emblematic river that runs through the city of Chablis and its vineyards. It is the historic headquarters of the Domaine and is an exceptional place within its 38 ha Chablis vineyard.
