This is a very limited production of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the volcanic soils of the Lazio volcano, giving the wine a great mineral personality. On the nose, intense aromas of red fruits and cherries, with subtle hints of chocolate, spices and leather. On the palate, a velvety strength accompanied by pleasant mineral notes typical of volcanic soils. The two grape varieties were aged separately in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months, then blended after constant tasting and controls.

A perfect wine with game dishes, starters with meat sauce, mature cheeses and blue cheeses.

Description

It is volcanic ash, or as Frascatians call it, terrinella, that indelibly characterises the wines of Tenuta Principe Alberico, located in the Appia Antica archaeological park, just a few minutes from the Eternal City, where the vineyards are cultivated: an ancient land that bears the indelible traces of the lava flow, direct testimony to the last eruption of the Lazio volcano 290,000 years ago. It is precisely from this soil so rich in mineral salts that the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines draw their nourishment, giving life to Alberico Rosso.
