A prodigious vintage! The wine has a dark ink-black-blue color. The nose develops a marked aromatic palette, a vintage of great expressiveness. Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, the power of the fruit gives way to the minerality of flint notes evolving into notes of smoked meat. On the palate, it is a vibrant wine, full of energy but already smooth and dense, on tannins marked by a beautiful finesse of the grain. The mineral finish completes a complex development on the palate, marked by the delicacy of black fruits. A real gem, L’Hermitage La Chapelle 2017 is undeniably a wine with great aging potential (2040-2065).
The name of the Hermitage “La Chapelle” is linked to the small Saint-Christophe chapel overlooking the terraced vineyard overlooking the Rhône. Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been the sole owner since 1919. The diversity of the terroirs of the “lieux dits” gives the wine a particular identity thanks to the blending of the different plots.
