In the northern part of the Rioja region, with a climate of transition between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, is the Sierra de Toloño. At its feet are the valleys of Valderemelluri, La Granja and Villaescusa. This whole area is distinguished by stepped terraces that descend towards the Ebro. It is this land that gives all the particularity to their wine. These soils are poor, stony, with layers of clay that retain freshness and humidity. All this promotes fruit maturity with finesse and balance. The climate of Atlantic influence brings abundant rainfall and the average temperature lower than that of the rest of the denomination. The alternation of cold nights and hot days offers ideal conditions for a good phenoleptic maturity of the Tempranillo grape.
