Ramos Pinto Port Wines are made at the Quinta do Bom Retiro winemaking centre, and for the special category wines (LBV and Vintage) the grapes are still crushed in traditional presses – lagares – as this age-old technique allows for a more efficient and less violent extraction. Once the first stages of vinification have been completed, the wines are transferred to the historic cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, where they undergo their long ageing process.
