Mas Codina Brut Nature Reserva is a cava from the D.O. Cava produced by the Mas Codina winery. It is a coupage of Xarel·lo, Macabeo, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Mas Codina Brut Nature Reserva grapes come from Alt Penedès vines, between 20 and 40 years old, grown on mainly calcareous soils.
The harvest is manual. In the cellar, the must is extracted using pneumatic pressing at a pressure of less than 0.2 bar.
The grains of Mas Codina Brut Nature Reserva then undergo an alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts for 20 days at 17ºC in stainless steel tanks.
After resting the must with its lees during the winter, Mas Codina Brut Nature Reserva carries out a second process of alcoholic fermentation, accompanied by selected yeasts.
Finally and before being bottled, Mas Codina Brut Nature Reserva rests for at least 26 months in the cellar at 16ºC.
Although Mas Codina was not born before 1985, the current winery property was built in 1681. Since then, all the managers of the property have always been dedicated to the cultivation of vines.
