“The de Coninck family, owners of one of Belgium’s oldest and largest wine merchants (1886), have been running this 32-hectare vineyard, a former hospital on the route to Santiago de Compostela, since 1991.
After completely restructuring the vineyard (90% of the Merlot was uprooted and replanted), it has become one of the leading references in the Sainte-Foy appellation.
Planted on the highest point of the appellation, the Merlot grapes have reached full maturity without losing their acidity. The result is a combination of juicy red fruit and a full, balanced palate, enhanced by a fine liveliness and elegant tannins. (2023-2028).”
Please note that this is a very limited selection, with only 1,200 bottles for the Belgian market.
Vatting for 3 to 4 weeks at controlled temperature, with 4 small pump-overs a day. Aged for 18 months in barrels. Fined with egg white and lightly filtered.
