Michel Couvreur – Whisky Candid Malt

CANDID -The new Disclosure expression- is a young malt whiskey with a strong character! Pure malt distilled in 2006, it results from a complete maturation in media bota (250 litres) intensely impregnated with PX, exclusively in the humid cellar. Four barrels, selected for this cuvée, are partially assembled to obtain regularity during bottling. At a natural degree of around 53%, the blend is very slightly reduced to obtain 49% alcohol.

Amber tint with ruby ​​reflections. Lively and floral fragrance, although very fresh, it is supported by aromas of toasted almonds, revealing a lot of roundness. A distant cousin of the Intravaganza, they are remembered for a fleshy, rich and languorous fruit alcohol character. Expressive on the palate, it is lively and powerful, alternating roundness and peated liquorice. Very buttery flavors control its ardor. Finally comes the calm after the storm, leaving at the end of the mouth a sweet freshness of almond, peppery and spicy, carried by a toasted structure, very slightly woody. The very fresh finish offers a beautiful expression of almond enhanced by barely visible peat and liquorice but essential for the balance and depth of this whisky.
