Founded in 1832, Castarède is the oldest House of Armagnac, with a collection of vintages dating back to 1888. This unique know-how, built up by six successive generations, has earned them a worldwide reputation for excellence. Official Armagnac of the G8 2003 in Evian, Armagnac of the last most expensive dinner of the 20th century at the Gavroche in London… Located in the heart of Bas Armagnac, Maison Castarède owns a 16-hectare vineyard. This estate, which surrounds a 16th-century château, enables them to retain control of their production, from distillation through to ageing of their Armagnacs in local oak barrels. Castarède Armagnacs are distinguished by longer ageing periods than those required by regulations. The Castarède family owns one of the world’s largest collections of vintages.
