Château de Chamirey – Mercurey 1er Cru La Mission Monopole 2024

The Mercurey 1er Cru La Mission Monopole 2024 from Château de Chamirey is one of the estate’s great white wines, sourced exclusively from the “La Mission” climat, of which Château de Chamirey is the sole owner. This Mercurey Premier Cru expresses the character of the Côte Chalonnaise terroir with remarkable precision, through a Chardonnay that is both powerful, elegant and deeply mineral.

The nose reveals a refined and expressive bouquet marked by citrus fruits, pear, white peach and white flowers, complemented by delicate notes of hazelnut, fresh butter and vanilla. With aeration, mineral and subtly toasted nuances emerge, adding further depth.

On the palate, the wine is full, rich and structured, with generous texture perfectly balanced by beautiful freshness. The fruit expresses itself with precision, supported by a mineral framework and pleasant saline tension. The oak ageing brings texture and depth while remaining perfectly integrated. The finish is long, fresh and persistent, with a beautiful sense of finesse and minerality.

A distinguished white Mercurey 1er Cru that combines power, richness and freshness with great elegance. Already highly appealing in its youth, the 2024 vintage also offers excellent ageing potential and will develop greater complexity over the years.

Château de Chamirey

Château de Chamirey is one of the emblematic estates of Mercurey and the Côte Chalonnaise. The estate covers 37 hectares, including 27 hectares of red wine vineyards and 10 hectares of white wine vineyards, with no fewer than 15 hectares classified as Premier Cru. It owns significant plots across six Mercurey Premier Crus, representing almost half of the estate’s total vineyard area.

Among these terroirs, Château de Chamirey is the sole owner of the “La Mission” Premier Cru for white wine. This monopole is one of the estate’s most emblematic cuvées and represents a particularly powerful expression of the great white wines of Mercurey.

The estate is owned by the Devillard family, who have worked for several generations to reveal the diversity of Mercurey’s terroirs. Particular attention is paid to precision, balance and the expression of each individual plot.
