## The Estate – Château Lagrange, Saint-Julien, France
In the heart of the Médoc, within the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation, Château Lagrange is an iconic Bordeaux estate, classified as a Third Growth (Troisième Grand Cru Classé) in the 1855 Classification. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, while the first vines were planted in the early 16th century. Over the centuries, the estate has built an outstanding reputation, driven by an unwavering commitment to quality and a profound respect for its terroir.
The vineyard forms a single, continuous estate spread across two remarkable Günzian gravel ridges, one of which marks the highest point of the appellation. These gravelly soils, combined with a clay-limestone subsoil and the Médoc’s oceanic climate, provide particularly favourable conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The estate also benefits from an exceptional natural setting, featuring landscaped parks, woodland and a lake.
In 1983, Château Lagrange was acquired by the Japanese group Suntory, marking the beginning of a new era. An extensive renovation programme was launched, covering both the vineyards and the technical facilities, with a clear ambition: to achieve excellence without compromise. Today, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. Meticulous parcel-by-parcel vineyard management allows the distinctive characteristics of each terroir and vintage to be expressed with precision.
Château Lagrange wines are distinguished by their balance of power, elegance and finesse. Pure fruit, aromatic depth and refined tannic structure come together to create harmonious wines with remarkable ageing potential.
This pursuit of excellence continues with the **Collection Remarquable**, a distinctive collection that combines the estate’s expertise with the art of cooperage and the exceptional character of centuries-old oak trees. It reflects Château Lagrange’s ambition to explore new dimensions of wine ageing while preserving the identity of this outstanding Saint-Julien terroir.
