Chambertin Clos de Bèze “Les ouvrées Rodin” Grand Cru 2017 – Domaine Faiveley

Les Ouvrées Rodin is a tribute to the renowned sculptor, whose patron was once a great friend of the family. This is a small parcel of 32 ares, where Pinot Noirs planted in 1966 stretch over a limestone-rich scree terroir and face south-east. The hand-picked grapes are meticulously sorted, then partly fermented as whole grapes…. The first intense nose reveals notes of leather, which evolve with aeration towards aromas of black fruit and dried rose. Powerful and deep, the palate is taut with vibrant acidity and very fine tannins. A subtle wine of great elegance.
