Champagne Louis Roederer Brut Rosé Vintage 2016

A deep, fruity rosé delivering all the maturity and intensity of a dry, bright continental summer!

A summery bouquet of great intensity and aromatic freshness, combining ripe, juicy yellow fruit (vine peach), slightly tart red fruit (redcurrant) and citrus fruit (blood orange). On aeration, more jammy notes of red Roussillon apricot emerge. On the palate, the attack is caressing, juicy and concentrated, but immediately followed by a saline, chalky freshness that makes the matter very voluptuous and delicate. Ripe, crisp fruit (vine peach, nectarine) and citrus (lemon) give a zesty, even slightly bitter allure. The soft, delicate effervescence is perfectly blended into a velvety texture. The finish is salivating, almost salty, with a hint of tannin and bitters, and that incredible dryness of limestone that gives an impression of infinite length.

MILLESIME
The year 2016 was characterized by a particularly pronounced climatic swing: after a cool, wet, rather late spring, the summer was dry and hot, marked by a heatwave at the end of August and a dry, sunny harvest period that ensured the grapes ripened beautifully. These dry, bright conditions benefited the canicular Pinots Noirs, whose ripeness revealed an intense fruity character and silky texture. The Chardonnays are not to be outdone, with a more classic, chiselled and saline allure at Louis Roederer.
