To mark the 100th anniversary of the Dubourdieu family at Château Doisy Daëne, we have decided to select grapes from our oldest Semillon vines for the 2023 vintage, to create a confidential cuvée of 1,200 bottles.
We’ve been making a 100% Sauvignon dry white wine exclusively from Barsac limestone since 1948, and the idea behind this new cuvée is to offer wine-lovers all the complexity of Semillon on this unique terroir. The estate will thus be offering two fundamentally different single-varietal cuvées.
28.70This cuvée, fermented and aged in one-wine barrels for almost 10 months, aims for purity and balance that will stand the test of time.
This cuvée is a double tribute:
-To Pierre Dubourdieu, a visionary of the appellation who developed one of the first dry cuvées in 1948.
To Denis Dubourdieu, Pierre’s son, a famous oenologist, consultant and professor at Bordeaux’s ISVV, who devoted a large part of his career to research, particularly in the field of wine-making.
