Mercurey 1er Cru La Mission Monopole 2022: The Excellence of Château de Chamirey
The Premier Cru “La Mission” is an exceptional plot located in Mercurey and exclusively owned by Château de Chamirey. Covering 1.9240 hectares, the vines benefit from an ideal east-facing exposure on a limestone and rocky terrace, just above the Premier Cru “Clos du Roi.” The oldest vines date back to 1961, while the youngest were planted in 1997, offering a perfect balance between tradition and renewal.

The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted to ensure the highest quality. After pressing, the juice is clarified for 12 to 24 hours at controlled temperatures. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in oak barrels. The wine is then aged entirely in oak barrels before being transferred to stainless steel tanks to complete the process.

Made from 100% Chardonnay, this wine reveals elegant floral aromas and notes of white fruits, enhanced by subtle spicy undertones. On the palate, it showcases vibrant freshness, remarkable minerality, and a long, harmonious finish. To fully enjoy its flavors, serve it at a temperature of 12 to 14°C.

The Mercurey 1er Cru La Mission Monopole 2022 pairs beautifully with a platter of seafood, grilled fish, or poultry in cream sauce. It can be cellared until 2032, allowing it to reach its full potential over time.
