Nina Mitjavile grew up on the family estates of Château Tertre Roteboeuf, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and the prestigious Roc de Cambes in Côtes de Bourg. Today, she is recognized for her expertise as a consultant winemaker. She accompanies several châteaux in their approach, raising them to the highest rank. We’re delighted to be working with her to explore her vision, particularly with our Château Martet and Château Pitray, which she took over in 2020.
Château de Pitray has 60 hectares of vines (130 hectares in all including forests and meadows) on the clay-limestone plateau of Gardegan, contiguous to the east with that of Saint Emilion. Pitray has been in the same family for more than six hundred years, so the challenge is daunting: to produce wines that resemble the terroir, gourmet, fruity, with round, velvety and charming tannins.
