Château de Chamirey: a family heritage of excellence in Mercurey
For three generations, the Devillard family has passionately managed Château de Chamirey, acquired in 1932. Situated in the heart of the prestigious Mercurey vineyards, in the Côte Chalonnaise region, the estate today covers 37 hectares, making it one of the largest in the appellation.
The Château, perched on an 18th-century rocky spur, enjoys a privileged location. It cultivates a rich variety of terroirs, including six recognized Premier Crus. Among these, the Premier Cru “Clos des Ruelles”, a red monopole, and the Premier Cru “La Mission” white stand out for their exceptional quality, contributing to the estate’s renown.
Mercurey Premier Cru Clos des Ruelles Monopole 2022 embodies the elegance of Burgundy wines. From an exceptional terroir, where the oldest vines were planted in 1954, this wine benefits from a south-east exposure, guaranteeing perfect ripening of the grapes. The clay-limestone soil, particularly well-suited to the cultivation of Pinot Noir grapes, gives this cru the remarkable complexity and finesse that characterize the great wines of Mercurey.
