Located in the heart of the historic cradle of Bordeaux wines, that is to say Pessac-Léognan, the 80 hectares of the Château de Fieuzal estate occupy a unique gravelly hillside highly favorable to the main Bordeaux grape varieties, namely Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot, sauvignon, semillon and muscadelle.
The estate has belonged since 2001 to Brenda and Lochlann Quinn, two Irish people who are passionate about French wine and who are committed to perpetuating the unique character of the estate by preserving the typicality and authenticity of Fieuzal wines. For this, the vineyard is the object of all attention and benefits from differentiated management by plot, able to reveal the assets of this exceptional terroir.
The renewed team of the castle has been led since 2007 by the talented young winemaker Stephen Carrier, who works with rigor and passion in a quest for perfection. Materializing and continuing this vast momentum of renewal, the renovation project is now complete – new cellar in 2011 – to allow the ascent of Château de Fieuzal towards ever greater finesse and excellence.
