Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet, this nearly two-hundred-year-old house was subsequently taken over by his sons: Paul and Henri Jaboulet. In 2006, the Frey family, who come from a long line of Champagne winegrowers and also own the famous Château la Lagune, bought Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné with the ambition of reviving the success it enjoyed until the early 1990s with wine lovers the world over. Oenologist Caroline Frey took charge of the estate, brilliantly combining respect for ancestral methods and know-how with new production tools. Traditional vineyard work and respect for the environment through integrated farming consolidate the creation of wines with a genuine identity and the long-term future of this key Rhone Valley house.
Caroline Frey, director of Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné and Château La Lagune. She combines tradition and innovation with her biodynamic approach. She creates quality wines while respecting the environment, and we’re delighted to be working with her to discover her unique creations, in particular her Secret Garden project in the Valais region of Switzerland.
